Sudan's Arabic daily "Addar" newspaper was Tuesday banned for two days for publishing an article on cannibalism, which authorities consider offending to public taste.
The paper's last Sunday edition published an article it reportedly obtained from the Internet on a company said to be trading in human flesh, Panafrican News Agency (PANA) reported.
The story had photographs of two men apparently feasting on grill meat which was suspected of being human flesh.
Sudan's Press watchdog, the National Council for Press and Publications, has censored the article and photos as "offending to the public taste."
It, therefore, slammed the two-day suspension on the paper, ending Wednesday, the agency said.
According to Addar, the US-based website advertises products from a so-called "Man Beef International" company, which claims to have contracted shipping firms to deliver its products to prospective customers in 15 countries around the world.
The website also propagates the company's other products such as kitchenware, bread and soft drinks – Albawaba.com
