Unidentified assailants abducted and beat the representative of Turkey's semi-official Anatolia news agency in the Russian capital of Moscow on Tuesday, according to the agency.

Remzi Oner Ozkan, driving his car on Tuesday morning, was forced to stop as two vehicles blocked his way. Five or six people forced him out of the car and forced him to get into another vehicle - a green Lada.

Following a journey of around an hour and a half, the assailants, who apparently posing as Chechens, beat the reporter and asked him questions such as, "How much money do you get from the Russian pigs?" and "Why do you call us terrorists?" Anatolia said.

Ozkan was later dumped on a street in southeast Moscow, blindfolded and with his hands tied.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador in Moscow has informed Russian authorities about the incident, the agency added. (Albawaba.com)
