Based on a new public opinion survey conducted by A&G survey company in Turkey, a significant percentage of Turks do not want to enter the European Union (EU) by first satisfying "EU conditions." Questions were directed at a random sample of 1836 respondents, The Turkish Times reported.

To the question "Shall we enter the EU with all these conditions?", 43.1 percent said NO, 25.2 percent YES, and 8.4 percent said "No even if there were no conditions." 20.1 percent preferred not to provide an answer, the paper said.

In the same survey, 40 percent thought the government was unsuccessful while 47.9 percent thought the opposition was unsuccessful as well -- Albawaba.com
