Gulf Air passengers can now complete their festive gift shopping while relaxing on-board as the airline’s duty free launches a selection of exclusive products and promotions for the festive season, from September to December.

Some of the premium products being introduced onboard from this month include the new Escada fragrance, Teddy necklace by Tartine et Chocolat and this season’s must-have accessory for Harry Potter fans, the ‘Goblet of Fire’ wristwatch.

One of the exclusive fragrances Agent Provocateur Eau de Parfum is also being luanhced.  This sensual perfume has been created by the house of Agent Provocateur London.

“Gulf Air duty free also has an exciting in-flight competition, in which customers can win an Epos gents Swiss watch every week for 16 weeks– all customers have to do is spend US $100 on duty free products on-board,” says Gulf Air Head of Marketing  Shane O’Hare.

“Our Frequent flyers will not have to worry about their festive shopping as our unbeatable on-board promotions give them a wide choice of exclusive gifts for their loved ones while earning miles from their purchases of duty free onboard. For every $100-199 they spend, we grant them 250 miles and for purchases of over US $200 or more, we give them 500 miles.”

If passengers spend US $100 during the holy month of Ramadan, they also have the opportunity of winning a beautiful Marino ladies watch created by Miskai of Monaco.

“We are very selective about the kind of duty free products we offer in-flight, only the very best will do for our guests,” says O’Hare.

About Gulf Air
Gulf Air was founded in 1950.  Today, it is owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and is the only truly pan Gulf carrier in the region. The airline’s network stretches from Europe to Asia and covers 44 cities in 30 countries. The fleet is one of the most modern in the Middle East and comprises 34 aircraft.

The airline, in the last year of a three-year strategic recovery programme, headed by President and Chief Executive James Hogan, is making rapid strides towards regaining profitability in 2005 and aims to further evolve by taking its renowned cultural strengths, which have been gained over more than half a century, into a global environment.

The dramatic turnaround in Gulf Air’s fortunes has won international recognition.  In January 2004, The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) presented the airline with the prestigious Airline Turnaround of the Year Award for 2003. Gulf Air was also the recipient of the 2003 Platinum Award for the Best Airline in the Middle East and North Africa, recognising the airline’s commitment to service excellence.
