The Zayed Centre released a book documenting the political career of Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for Coordination and Follow-Up Monday.

The new book, published on the occasion of the UAE's 30th National Day, highlights Sheikh Maktoum's role in building the UAE Federation, and his leading role, along with his other brothers, in achieving the UAE people's aspirations for economic development of the country.

According to Gulf News, the book sheds more light on Sheikh Maktoum's success in following the footsteps of his father, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, who was one of the founding fathers of the UAE along with President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and other Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the emirates, in consolidating the country's unity and advancing its progress under the wise leadership of Sheikh Zayed. The book describes Sheikh Maktoum as "one of the rare historical leaders that are very close to the hearts of their citizens and to their issues." (Albawaba.com)
