Israeli forces Sunday reported of attempted stabbing attacks in Bethlehem and Hebron, the Jerusalem Post reports.

The first attack occurred in the Palestinian town of Beit Sachur near Bethlehem.

Moments later another stabbing was reported in Hebron near an Israeli military checkpoint at the entrance of al-Shuhada street in Old City. The 35-year-old female suspect was shot in the head with a rubber coated steel bullet, Maan News reports.

Witnesses told Ma'an that a 35-year-old woman from a Hebron-area village attempted to stab a soldier before she was shot in the head with a rubber-coated steel bullet. A female Palestinian suspect was shot following the incident.

The “knife intifada” that’s gripped Jerusalem and the West Bank since September has claimed the lives of 23 Israelis and over 100 Palestinians, according to official sources.

According to a recent poll, 67 percent of Palestinians support the use of knife attacks to confront Israel, while around half think current violence will escalate into an armed Intifada.

Israeli police have said the majority of the alleged Palestinian attackers have no criminal records. Most are so-called “lone wolves,” meaning they act independently of militant groups.
