ALBAWABA - Thousands of protesters are expected to rally across the United States on Saturday in what organizers are calling one of the largest coordinated demonstrations against President Donald Trump.

The protests come amid mounting criticism from Democrats and civil rights groups, who accuse the president of betraying the American people and undermining democratic institutions.

According to activist organizations, more than 1,200 protests are scheduled to take place across all 50 states, as well as in several international cities including London, Paris, Berlin, Mexico City, and Toronto. The demonstrations aim to oppose Trump’s sweeping policy changes, both domestically and internationally, particularly those enacted through executive orders.

Ezra Levin, co-founder of the advocacy group Indivisible, stated that the protests are intended to deliver a unified message to Trump, billionaire Elon Musk, and congressional Republicans. “We’re showing that Americans reject their grip on our democracy, our communities, and our values,” he said.

The movement has gained support from over 150 activist groups, with plans to include voices from immigration rights organizations, labor unions, and pro-Palestinian advocates opposing renewed Israeli military operations in Gaza.

Simultaneously, Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer accused Trump of “betraying the people,” particularly in light of a recent budget vote that he claims favors billionaires over the middle class. Schumer emphasized the administration’s alignment with elite interests at the expense of everyday Americans.

The protests also reflect growing frustration over Trump’s trade policies, which have reportedly triggered significant economic losses in multiple states within days of new tariff implementations.

Legal and political challenges continue to shadow Trump’s presidency, with ongoing lawsuits alleging executive overreach in efforts to dismiss public employees and expand immigration enforcement.
