The leader of Lebanon's Hizbullah said Sunday his group will not give up its weapons and has warned Israel and the United States against attacking Lebanon or Syria. "They want to disarm us, but we refuse to do so. Today we need to keep betting on the resistance," he said.
Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said such an attack would be met by suicide bombers.
Sheikh Nasrallah made the comments at a rally marking three years since Israel withdrew from southern Lebanon.
Earlier, Nasrallah condemned the recent suicide bombings in Saudi Arabia and Morocco for having targetted "innocent people." "In principle, we do not approve of this kind of operation," Nasrallah said in an interview with the Egyptian daily al-Ahram.
"Until now, we have not understood who is behind these attacks," the Shiite leader said from Beirut. "It is suitable to condemn the root causes which have pushed some to commit acts of this kind. When these actions target innocent people, we must condemn them," Nasrallah told the paper. (Albawaba.com)
