Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will hold an expanded cabinet meeting on Saturday to review the final Egyptian-European partnership agreement and the national industrial renewal program, according to the daily Al Ahram.
Prime Minister Atef Ebaid announced the cabinet meeting, saying that the planned agreement would provide Egypt with more opportunities to market its goods and join key economic blocs.
“The agreement will provide Egypt with the opportunity to establish a free trade zone with the European Union,” the premier added.
Ebaid said the cabinet would also consider proposals on financing the modernization of 1,500 Egyptian industrial facilities in collaboration with the EU.
Besides the partnership agreement, the cabinet is this week scheduled to follow up on the issues of building new airports and providing insurance for Egyptians living abroad – Albawaba.com
