Russia is ready to participate in the Middle East summit in Sharm el-Sheikh "on the same level as the other participants," the foreign ministry said Sunday, quoted by the Interfax news agency.
A Russian government spokesman said earlier Sunday that he had "no information on this matter" when asked if Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov would travel to the Egyptian Red Sea resort for Monday's pivotal summit.
Lawmakers who met Ivanov over the weekend also said that Russian diplomats were not yet prepared to attend Monday's peace-saving session – MOSCOW (AFP)
