The imprisonment of ousted President Mohamed Morsi has been extended for 15 days pending an investigation into charges of collaborating with Hamas to carry out violent attacks in Egypt and assault police establishments.
Morsi faces several charges including spying, attacking police establishments, breaking into and sabotaging prisons, setting the Wadi al-Natroun prison on fire, enabling prisoners to escape, escaping from prison himself, destroying prison documents, storming police stations, sabotaging public buildings, and killing and abducting prisoners and officers.
Morsi has been detained at an undisclosed location since the military ousted him from power in early July.
