At least 32 Daesh militants were killed on Sunday following a wide-scale US-led coalition air raid on Raqqa, AFP reports.

The news comes from the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, who stated that the coalition conducted a series of coordinated strikes to the north, east and southeast of Daesh's self-proclaimed Syrian capital.

More than 40 militants were injured in the airstrikes.

The US, Russia, and France have been carrying out air strikes on Raqqa for several weeks in attempt to eliminate Daesh.

Recently reports have surfaced from the activist group Raqqa is Silently Beign Slaughtered that white phosphorus is being used in aerial attacks.
