Modhesh World to celebrate the tradition of ‘Hag-e-Lail’ today

Modhesh World is all set to welcome visitors in celebrating the occasion of Hag-e-Lail on Monday, July 26. Hag-e-Lail is the 15th day of the Islamic month of Sha'ban and celebrated to welcome Ramadan. Visitors will be welcomed in the traditional manner with Arabic coffee and Modhesh World will be decked up to reflect the occasion. Each Zone in the venue will also organise free games and activities to celebrate the event.

Modhesh Friends' Club will also put up shows for visitors to mark the occasion. A traditional dance, welcome songs and a play revolving around the importance of this evening are going to be a part of the activities staged by the club members. They will also take the opportunity to showcase their talent like Taekwondo picked up at the club. Singing Atoon Hag E Laila, the children will parade the halls of Modhesh World collecting sweets and treats from different zones depicting the age old tradition of this day.

The sweet shop 'Hail Wa Zaafran' will participate in the activities by attempting to create the biggest tray of sweets with a tray measuring 2.4 metres into 1.2 metres. It will have a hundred different varieties of Arabic sweets that will be distributed among the visitors in keeping with the tradition of the event. Capri-Sun and Nestle have also tied up with Modhesh World to celebrate Hag E Lail and will distribute sweet treats of their brands at the venue.

Government zones are also participating in the celebrations at Modhesh World with special activities and goodies. The Roads and Transport Authority will organise a lecture at the stage and distribute balloons and sweets to children. Bait Al Khair Society is also putting up a traditional tent with sweet treats for children. Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai TV, Dubai Sports Council and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Trust will also organise activities to mark the event.

Families are invited to participate in the activities and take home sweet memories and treats that mark the event of Hag E lail.
