A moderate earthquake hit the Egyptian capital Cairo on Monday, but no damage or injuries were reported, officials said.
According to SPA, the early morning quake measured 4.4 on the Richter scale and could be felt for about three seconds. This quake had its epicenter in Dahshour, 35 km southwest of the Cairo suburb of Helwan at a depth of6.5 km. “We had a moderate shock at about 6:25 a.m. local time,” indicated Milad Girgis, seismologist at the Helwan earthquake monitoring center. “It is considered one of the aftershocks of the quake that took place in 1992.” (Albawaba.com)
