Mobibucks, a leading global provider of mobile payment solutions, announced Emirates Net Systems LLC in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, as its latest certified partner. Emirates Net, the leading IT solutions and integration company in the UAE, will support Mobibucks growth in the UAE and North Africa.
The strategic partnership with the UAE’s leading system’s integrator builds on Mobibucks' fast-growing payments business in MENA over the past 12 months. Mobibucks offers unique payment and incentive products for making purchases using a mobile phone number.
“This new partnership represents a strong investment by Mobibucks in the MENA market and is part of our increased investment program to help expand Mobibucks localized technical service and support in the Middle East and North Africa,” said Jorge Fernandes, CEO of Mobibucks.
“Emirates Net’s brand leadership and relationships with government and the commercial sector combine to give Mobibucks significantly greater support in our quickest growing region,” noted Ziad Alshobaki, managing director of Mobibucks FZ LLC in Dubai Internet City (DIC), UAE. “We are impressed with Emirates Net’s extensive MENA coverage and commitment to first-class customer service. And we feel aligned with them in the way we both want to make our customers successful.”
Shaik Hamdan, CEO of Emirates Net said, “We have been in the market for over 10 years providing cutting edge technology to the region. We selected Mobibucks for its visionary approach to mobile commerce. The emerging needs for payments in the digital economy demand new payment tools. Mobibucks is such a tool. We look forward to being Mobibucks partner in MENA.”
The MENA region is a fast-growing mobile market. “It’s not only a cash economy but it also boasts one of the largest expatriate populations in the world,” said Alshobaki. “These factors make mobile payments a natural fit.”
The conversion of cash and plastic into mobile payments in the region has increased significantly the past year, Alshobaki noted. “More consumers and merchants are moving in that direction,” he said. “I expect the banks to move quickly to mobile payments to meet the demands of their customers.”
Mobibucks is a unique mobile payment solution for making purchases using a mobile phone number. Its virtual, secure and credentialed platform allows banks to give customers convenient and affordable access to their money from any mobile phone. It lets consumers use their phone to make secure payments at locations such as cafes, gas stations, grocery stores, movie theaters and convenience stores. It allows merchants to capture, inform and motivate consumer spending.
