Minister: 18 Hospitals Built in Iran Annually

Eighteen hospitals are built in Iran each year, said Health Minister Mohammad Farhadi on Wednesday. 

Farhadi, speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the 1,000-bed Milad hospital in northwest Tehran, said that presently 66 percent of urban population and 40 percent of the country's total population were covered by the social security organization, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.  

He said that more than 26 million people were covered by social security services, adding that the number of beds in the country's hospitals had been increased by 71 percent – Albawaba.com
