Militants in north Lebanon killed three Lebanese Army soldiers and seriously injured one other as security forces raided the home of a suspected terrorist, the Army said overnight in statement.
The raid took place in Beddawi in the Minyeh-Dinnieh district, and the militants opened fire on and threw hand grenades at the Army Intelligence soldiers, causing their death.'
The Army said in the statement that it is pursuing the individuals who opened fire on its men in order to arrest them.
Earlier in September the Army arrested members of a “terror cell” linked to Daesh (ISIS) who where carrying out operations inside Lebanon.
The cell was linked to a shooting in August that saw gunmen kill three people in the north Lebanon village of Kaftoun.
