NISSAN has been rated ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ by leading Middle East motoring media.
The award has been made by Wheels & Gears, the Middle East’s leading English-language motoring publication, along with Automobile – its Arabic counterpart, and Future TV.
Editors from all three media tested every vehicle launched in the Middle East during 2004 before reaching their decision.
“Nissan was chosen simply because it has so many active facets that, by careful design and unwavering intent, affect everyone who comes in touch with the company,” according to Wheels & Gears publisher Suheil Hamoudi.
He highlighted five key areas of Nissan superiority – design, quality, range, service, and citizenship.
“Design is exceptionally advanced and amazingly innovative, functional yet futuristic,” Hamoudi said. “Quality is a hallmark of Nissan’s ultimately dependable products, and in its range, Nissan has ensured that there is something for every purpose, wallet, and taste. “Although service is a subjective issue, Nissan has made its intentions crystal clear – do business with us and you get service to really smile about. As for citizenship, Nissan’s support of local training and education, environmental initiatives, motor sports, and a host of other events make it an exemplary corporate citizen of the Middle East.”
In addition to the award and due to the rich news about Nissan and its large line up of products, “Wheels & Gears” dedicated a whole supplement to the manufacturer of the year, featuring the Nissan cars, various aspects of Nissan’s management and service polices and an interview with Nakajima, Nissan Middle East’s deputy managing director.
Nakajima said the award reflects the success of the ‘enhancing the organization’ programme that has been implemented over the past few years.
“Customers are increasingly discerning and demanding, so customer satisfaction is always a top priority,” he commented. “But instead of just satisfying our customers, we want to delight them and I am confident that the Manufacturer of the Year award will motivate us to achieve and maintain even higher standards.”
