Tunisian Oussama Mellouli took a bronze medal on the opening night of the swimming at the FINA World Championships in Montreal. The Tunisian finished third (3:46.08) in the 400m freestyle. Australian Grant Hackett finished first and Russian Yuri Prilukov was second in 3:44.44. Last month, Mellouli won three gold medals in men’s 200 medley, the men's 400 medley in and the men's 800 free swim - in the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almeria, Spain.
