Medical Solutions FZ, a leading provider of pathology laboratory services and management, recently held an educational symposium in conjunction with the Emirates Medical Association Pathology Society on recent advances in cervical cancer screening and detection technologies with a focus on Liquid Based Cytology (LBC). This was attended by more than 80 leading pathologists, cytoscreeners & gynaecologists from the region.
This cutting-edge service and technology, which recently was approved in the United Kingdom by the National Screening Program, are available in Dubai through Medical Solutions FZ group laboratories namely Welcare Hospital Pathology Laboratory, HSL laboratory, SCL laboratory & DML laboratory.

Entitled ‘Recent Advances in Cervical Pathology: cytological and histological aspects’. The continuing medical education event featured prominent speakers such as Dr. Mike Wells, Professor of Gynaecological Pathology at the University of Sheffield and Honorary Consultant to Sheffield Teaching Hospital; Dr. John Smith, Consultant Histopathologist and Cytopathologist at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Pathology at the University of Sheffield, and Wilma Anderson, National Training Manager, Medical Solutions. They discussed the emerging technologies and nomenclatures in cervical pathology.
