Mali president thanks Libyan counterpart for aid in fighting locusts

Mali's President Ahmed Tomani Toure, the Current Chairman of the Sahel-Sahara Community phoned Friday night Libya's President Col. Gadhafi, during which he offered his congratulations and those of the Malian people and government to the leader and the Libyan people on the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan.  

 

President Toure also renewed his appreciation and that of the people of Mali of the consistent noble stances of the Libyan leader, recently demonstrated in the valuable assistance offered by the Libyans to the Malian people to enable them to confront the locust plague and to achieve major results in the eradication of the plague, JANA news agency reported.  

 

In addition, he praised the work and successes achieved by the Libyan technical team that contributed to the protection of the Malian people's crops. (Albawaba.com)
