The youth wing of Malaysia's ruling party called Wednesday for an immediate halt to the "murder" of Palestinians and criticized Israel for the violence in the Middle East.
Hishammuddin Hussein, youth chief of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO), handed in a protest to the US embassy here as about 20 youth wing members gathered outside.
In the protest letter, UMNO youth rapped "the irresponsible attitude of the Israeli regime." It also hit out at the US for not stopping the violence.
"Whilst the United States is prevaricating on this issue, many innocent and young lives are unnecessarily lost," the letter said.
Hishammuddin told reporters the US could play an active role in persuading Israel to end the killing of Palestinians -- KUALA LUMPUR (AFP)
