Although rumors were abundant about the life threatening state Madonna’s new born was in, the pop singers rep says that there was never real danger of loosing the baby boy during the traumatic delivery, according to ABConline.
Rocco Richie was born on the critical eighth month on August 11.
According to a BBC article published Monday, Madonna had a detached placenta, which was cutting off the baby's oxygen supply. Both British and American news outlets picked up the story that doctors at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles had to perform an emergency Caesarean section in order to save the baby's life.
"None of that is true," Madonna publicist Liz Rosenberg told the New York Daily News' Jim Farber, adding, "Both the baby and Madonna are home and healthy and fine. There was never any life-threatening situation for anybody."
The baby reportedly weighed 5 pounds, 9 ounces. There is still no explanation for what caused Madonna to deliver so early, but there seems to be something missing from the story.
"Madonna doesn't wish to expand on any details of the birth, except to say how happy she is," Rosenberg told the Daily News.
