Madonna has opened up about living her life in the public eye in an eye-popping interview with the Rolling Stones magazine, reported ABC online.
The Material Mom talks about the lessons she’s learned after all the years of shameless media courting; frequently outrageous hair, looks and lifestyle reversals. She also talks about brazen self-exposure in film, print, and music videos?
“I feel insecure every five minutes,” the 42-year-old pop icon told the Rolling Stones.
Her self-confidence was especially hard-done by her recent pregnancy, she said, when quivers of inadequacy would seize her “every time I [looked] at myself in the mirror… every time I [saw] some horrible picture of myself in the newspaper, where I [looked] like a whale.”
The multi-talented singer/actress has a new album, Music, due out Sept. 19, and she may have settled on her next film role as well.
According to Variety magazine, Madonna has optioned an original screenplay titled The Long Hair Depression.
The script, a first-time effort from author Jeff Copeland, is a romance about a husband and wife raising their children in southern Missouri in the early ’70s.
Her optioning of Long Hair’s rights is decidedly ironic in light of additional comments made in her interview with Rolling Stone: “I can’t find a script that I like. And lately, I’m just getting all the scripts about mothers with children. With truculent teenage daughters and stuff. Boring! I’m still a truculent teenage daughter”
Spoken like the very poster child for ’80s pop excess. Whether or not she stars in the film, Madonna will reportedly develop Long Hair as a producer through her Mad Guy Films label-Albawaba.com.
