June 2006 – Nissan Europe SAS and Columbia Sportswear Company recently announced a joint effort to launch the Nissan X-TRAIL Columbia Edition, which will tour Europe across 21 countries starting in 2006.
“The X-Trail has been an instant best seller in the compact SUV category internationally as well as in the GCC” commented Tariq Danish, SUV Brand Manager at Nissan Middle East. “The X-Trail has been a great success with customers looking for a versatile 2.5 litre SUV that feels equally at home on city streets or in wild terrain with its 4x4 capabilities – it is a great all around vehicle” continued Danish.
The 2006 Nissan X-Trail comes with a standard 2.5 litre engine, mated to either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. The X-Trail offers three driving modes, available in 2WD, Auto mode and Locked 4X4 for true four wheel driving, all accessible through an easy-to-use electronic 4WD switch. Storage space also makes the X-Trail a home away from home for the adventurous types, and a host of safety features and a higher level of luxury and comfort set this SUV apart from the rest.
