Three Zambian prisoners were killed and 17 injured when a lightning bolt struck their jail on the outskirts of the Zambian capital on Wednesday, newspapers reported Thursday.
The prisoners were struck when they returned to Mukobeko jail from a prison farm on the outskirts of the capital, according to two government-owned dailies, the Times of Zambia and Zambia Daily Mail.
The 17 injured inmates were admitted to a government hospital where they were receiving treatment -- LUSAKA (AFP)
