Libya's state prosecutor said on Wednesday one prisoner was killed and 17 people were wounded when Islamist detainees clashed with guards and police at the country's main Abu Salim prison last week.
According to Reuters, the state prosecutor said in the first official statement about the incident, which took place on Oct. 4, that 14 guards and policemen were among the wounded.
Up to 1,200 prisoners had been reported killed in a mass prisoner revolt at the Abu Salim prison 10 years ago.
