Liberty Automobiles Company, a leading player in the UAE’s automotive industry, has reported an unprecedented sales performance during the Holy Month, registering a 70 percent increase in retail activity over the previous months this year.

At the same time, the company also reported a whopping 100 percent increase in sales during Ramadan over the corresponding period last year, with customers visiting the Liberty showrooms in Dubai and Sharjah to make their choices among the latest models of Cadillac, Chevrolet and Opel cars. Liberty Automobiles is a well-known distributor for General Motors vehicles in the UAE.

A top Liberty Automobiles official said that Ramadan was traditionally a busy period for the company and that the showrooms remained open for extended hours to allow more people to inspect and test-drive the latest vehicles. During this time, Liberty Automobiles also registered a footfall increase of over 50 percent in comparison to the preceding non-Ramadan months.

“Visitor traffic has been exceptionally high during Ramadan over the past few years, and this year, it exceeded our expectations,” explained Tayeb Al Rais, Managing Director of Liberty Automobiles Co. “Such an impressive visitor turnout reinforces our determination to continuously offer a unique environment for customer-sales interaction along with a dedicated support structure.”

The retail activity was also boosted by Liberty Automobiles’ traditional Ramadan hospitality and an innovative promotion. Customers buying vehicles in the Cadillac range were offered a full package of advantages which included free insurance for one year on the 2005 models, free registration, an AED 2000 Paris Gallery shopping voucher, an AED 1000 Cash Plus card from ENOC / EPPCO, a four-year / 100,000 km General Motors warranty, a four-year / 100,000 km service and maintenance, a four-year 24-hour roadside assistance and pre-approved finance options.

On the other hand, customers of Chevrolet and Opel vehicles were given a free raffle coupon on purchase of any new vehicle, which entitled them to participate in the weekly raffle offering electronic items, including laptops, i-mate phones, digital cameras and i-Pods.

One hundred lucky winners received exciting prizes during Ramadan. All customers, however, were entitled to an AED 1000 cash voucher, free insurance and registration for one year. The four weekly draws were held under the supervision of Sharjah Municipality officials.

“Turning customer loyalty into tangible, attractive rewards motivates them to return to our showrooms, participate in promotions, and most importantly, build a solid relation with Liberty,” Al Rais pointed out. “We will aim to convert the positive visitor feedback to drive our future marketing strategies and further improve our performance.”
