An official session of talks between Oman and Kuwait was held in Muscat on Thursday when Omani Minister of Information Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al Rowas, and his Kuwaiti counterpart Shaikh Ahmed Fahd al Ahmed al Sabah discussed cooperation in the information sector, reported Oman Observer.
The talks focused on proposals to expand cooperation between Oman and Kuwait, notably by jointly producing programs, and organizing reciprocal visits by information officials of the two countries. They also discussed problems encountered by the press and publishing sectors in their respective countries.
The Omani minister described the information sector in the Gulf as an integral force founded on firm principles and vigilant policies, which were vital to preserving the region's identity and stability, as well as safeguarding its intellectual wealth, said the Observer.
Al Rowas also underscored the importance of the information sector as a medium that could be effectively used, based on clear objectives and firm principles, to reach out to the entire world.
The information sector in the Gulf, the Kuwaiti minister said, has a big role to play in preserving the region's identity, heritage and traditions against the onslaught of a variety of global phenomena.
Later, in remarks to journalists, the Kuwaiti Information Minister said both sides had agreed to produce a joint play, marking the start of a series of joint productions. He also welcomed the spirit of understanding and frankness that characterized the talks – Albawab.com
