ALBAWABA - Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian spark romance buzz in Tokyo drift video.

Lewis Hamilton consistently enjoys his time in Japan. He's won the Japanese Grand Prix five times, once at Fuji and four times at Suzuka, the most recent being 2018. Just a couple weekends ago he came in sixth at the race in Japan, which I'm sure he was happy enough with, but it's his antics outside of the races that always look more entertaining. Over the past few years he's put out "Tokyo Drift" videos of him hooning R34 Skyline GT-Rs, one of which (embedded below) got him in trouble with the rental company.

Lewis was spotted arriving at a car meet at the renowned Daikoku Parking Area in a red Ferrari F40 with a group of people filming and taking pictures a few days prior to the Japanese Grand Prix in March. Lewis released "Tokyo Drift Vol. III," the result of that trip, on Monday. In addition to being a sickly and incredibly well-made film, it also serves as the coolest promotional launch for his alleged romance with Kim Kardashian. (Perhaps it's also a covert hint at the F40 comeback he wants Ferrari to undertake.)

A few months ago, Lewis's and Kim's photographs from a distance checking into an upscale British resort sparked rumors about their relationship. Later, they were sighted in Arizona, where they appeared to have shared pictures of the same stunning sunset on social media. Although we knew they had been together in Japan the week before the race, she hasn't accompanied him to any races since the start of the Formula 1 season, despite the fact that they sat together at the Super Bowl. However, she is sitting shotgun for a large portion of the new Tokyo Drift video, laughing and grinning broadly at the conclusion after a particularly obscene donut; thus, this video is the first time either of them has posted each other.

The video is truly wonderful. It is credited to Lewis' partner, 13thwitness, who shared some amazing pictures during the shoot. Jalopnik's friend Larry Chen was also involved, and the finished video has some of his nighttime photographs. "Keeping up with Lewis is quite hard 🤣😂" is how Chen criticized Yip Feng, the driver of the camera car, in the post. Yes, without a doubt! Many others, like frequent Jalopnik writer Ken Saito, have excellent photos of Lewis in the F40, but it's particularly worthwhile to browse Larry's feed and those of the other video collaborators.

Unlike many annoying Formula 1 fans who are upset when any amount of celebrity anything happens even close to their sport, I think the event is fun. Kim is clearly a legit car enthusiast (and so are most of her sisters), and any sort of relationship like this will only further the growth of F1. Shouldn't we all want more people to be curious about the automotive sport we love?? The same goes for automotive enthusiasm broadly, but that's really a conversation for another day. I wonder if we'll see them both at the Met Gala in a few weeks. Now that Ferrari has the Purosangue, they could actually show up in the same car. An SUV with suicide doors is a bit easier than a supercar to get in and out of when you're in couture.
