All Kuwaiti ministers submitted letters of resignation from their post to the Prime Minister Monday, according to Agence France-Presse.
"I have received an official letter from the government that all ministers have submitted their resignations to the prime minister," Marzouk al-Ghanem, the speaker of Kuwait's National Assembly, told reporters.
Tuesday's parliamentary session has also been canceled as a result.
Monday's move comes amidst the publication of media reports last week in which Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al Sabah was quoted as saying that a "major cabinet reshuffle is imminent."
The 16-member cabinet came into power in August, but has been increasingly under scrutiny from parliament with more than a dozen requests submitted to question the cabinet--including the prime minister--in parliamentary session.
Since 2006, 12 cabinets have resigned in the oil-rich Gulf state.
