Suspect Arrested After Knife Attack Injures Several in Munich

Police say they have arrested a suspect after Saturday's knife attack in the German city of Munich.

A man injured several people in a knife attack Saturday morning in the southern German city of Munich, police said.

"We have arrested a suspected person. We still do not know whether he is the perpetrator,” police spokesman Markus da Gloria Martins told local media.

Police had been looking for a male suspect around the underground station of Rosenheimer Platz in central Munich where the attack occurred.

"Warning: please avoid area around #Rosenheimerplatz,Ostbahnhof&Ostpark! The offender is still on the run. If possible stay in your houses," police had written earlier on Twitter.

 

 

They had described the suspect as a man in his forties riding a black bike, wearing gray trousers, green training jacket, with a backpack and a sleeping mat

The motivation for the attack is still unknown.
