President Mohammad Khatami on Wednesday stressed that Iran and Kuwait enjoyed friendly ties and were keen to further strengthen them, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
In a meeting with outgoing Kuwaiti Ambassador to Tehran Ali Suleyman Al Said, Khatami stressed that warm Tehran-Kuwait relations could serve as a model for ties between regional countries.
"The two countries' relations are based on mutual respect and are in line with their mutual interests," the Iranian president said.
He said he was convinced that existing friendly relations between Iran and Kuwait could be further strengthened through efforts of both countries' leaders – Albawaba.com
