Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei made Sunday remarks in an address to a group of Iranian officials and Muslim state ambassadors in Tehran. He cited a lack of unity as the predominant problem facing the Muslim world. Khamenei also highlighted the Palestinian issue as the foremost problem facing the Muslim people. He added that full unity and support must be given toward the Palestinians.

Khamenei said the problems of the country are rooted in “unfounded discords among those who are in the service of the system.”

Khamenei also utilized the platform to congratulate the audience on the feast of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Muslim feast marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Iranian President Muhammad Khatami also recently echoed Khamenei’s stance, stating, "..had Muslims and Islamic governments gained maximum benefits from the month of Ramadan and stood beside each other in defending rights of the oppressed Palestinian people, they would not have been witnessing the deplorable conditions in Palestine today."

Last Friday, millions of fasting Muslims throughout the world expressed support for the oppressed nation of Palestine and their cause in rallies held on World Qods Day. (Albawaba.com)
