The zero issue of a new Jordanian economic magazine is in circulation under the name “Rasmal”.

The idea behind the monthly Arabic specialized publication, published by Arab Advertisers, was initiated by “a group of business and media men who look forward to making the project as a qualitative and effective addition to the economic publication,” said Rasmal’s editor-in-chief, Saleh Zaitoon.

In the editorial, Zaitoon said that in an era where the Internet and satellite channels have become the masters of the media game, there has been much reluctance to add another printed publication to the flood of similar projects worldwide. He said, however, that careful studies by experts led to the group’s decision to proceed with Rasmal as a practical project concerned mainly with Arab economics, but with an emphasis also on relevant issues of world economy.

The magazine’s zero issue covered topics related to Jordanian economy such as the history of the kingdom’s currency, and an interview with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mohammad Halaika.

At the Arab level, the periodical delved into Syrian economy under the rule of the new Syrian president, Bashar Assad.

It also investigates trends among Arab Gulf businessmen regarding investments in their respective countries’ stock markets.

A number of other features were also published in the magazine trial issue – Albawaba.com
