Jordanian authorities are imposing a country-wide, 48-hour curfew starting Thursday midnight through Saturday, Director of the Coronavirus Crisis Management Cell, Mazen Faraya said Tuesday.
In a briefing on the developments of the epidemiological situation in the Prime Ministry, Faraya said the lockdown, which will run through 9 - 10 October, will only exclude those whose work nature demands they work during the lockdown - contact tracing teams and medical staffs.
Arrivals to the Kingdom will be excluded from the lockdown rules, provided they show officers at checkpoints their boarding pass, he noted.
He highlighted that the curfew will be a weekly measure until a further notice, justifying the decision with the vertiginous and unprecedented increase in COVID-19 cases lately.
He said that the partial lockdown during the weekdays will remain in place (1 am - 6 am), warning against breaking the rules of the curfew. He noted that the army will be deployed across the Kingdom to guarantee the curfew is observed.
