Syria's Water Minister Hatim Halawani on Tuesday said drought-hit Jordan is expected to start receiving Syrian water within two weeks, Jordan Times reported Wednesday.
Halawani told the paper that Syria might begin pumping 3.5 million cubic meters of water during the coming two weeks in line with a deal reached in Amman last week.
However, earlier in the day, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported that Syria was scheduled to supply the water on Tuesday and that a Jordan Valley Authority delegation left on the same day to "discuss with Syrian officials regulations to pump the amount of water and evaluate its quality," - Albawaba.com
