A new plant to produce fodder out of tomato marc is likely to be established within next quarter, Jordan Times reported Monday.
The paper quoted Abdul Nabi Fardous, the director general of the National Center for Agricultural Research and Technology Transfer (NCARTT) as saying "the project, which will cost only JD20,000-25,000, …will reduce the size of the fodder import bill which usually costs the state treasury millions of dollars."
Jordan, a poor country in fodder production, imports annually around 500,000 tons of fodder, the daily added - Albawaba.com
