ALBAWABA - The Royal Hashemite Court (RHC) that Jordan's King Abdullah II  is scheduled to host a summit in Aqaba on Wednesday with Egypt President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the dangerous developments in Gaza and the situation in the West Bank.

"The summit will be held within the framework of Jordan’s efforts to coordinate Arab positions to push for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid" the statement continued.

King Abdullah II is set to host Presidents Sisi and Abbas in the Red Sea city of Aqaba, where the Arab leaders are expected to discuss the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza and the need to demand the implication of immediate ceasefire to put an end to the bloodshed.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been on a Middle East tour where he visited several Arab countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Jordan, where he met with high-profile leaders to discuss the recent events in the region.

Upon his meeting with Blinken, King Abdullah called on the United States to press Israel for an "immediate ceasefire" and to put an end to the humanitarian crisis brought on by the Gaza war.

King Abdullah expressed Jordan’s rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, which constitutes a clear violation of international law, calling for enabling Gazans to return to their homes, the RHC added.

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, Israel has killed 23,210 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 59,167 others, according to the local Ministry of Health.

About 85% of Gazans have been displaced, while all of them are food insecure, according to the UN. Hundreds of thousands of people are living without shelter, and less than half of aid trucks are entering the territory than before the start of the conflict, Anadolu agency reported.
