Jordanian prison authorities hanged a man accused of murdering 11 people over a four-year span with the assistance of his wife, the press Friday quoted officials as saying.
Bilal Mussa, 27, was hanged at dawn Thursday at the Swaqa prison.
He had killed his victims in a bid to rob them with the help of his wife, Susan, who is serving time as an accessory to murder.
According to the Jordan Times, the couple only confessed to one murder, carried out in 1998. That eventually led investigators to the other killings, which included a mother and her six-month-old son.
Mussa's final request as he was led to the gallows was to ask his family to collect a 9,000-dinar (12,600 dollar) loan he had made to a friend, the Times and Al-Dustour newspapers said.
He showed no signs of repentance.
The hanging brings to eight the total number of those executed in Jordan since the beginning of the year -- AMMAN (AFP)
