Jordan comments on shooting attack at Allenby Bridge in Israel

ALBAWABA - Jordanian Minister of State for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson Mohammad al-Momani said on Thursday that Amman is following up with the circulating news about a security incident on the other side of the Karameh border crossing (Allenby Bridge).

Al-Momani added in a post on the X platform that Jordanian authorities are following up on the matter.

He indicated that details will be announced as they become available.

On Thursday, Israeli media revealed that two Israeli soldiers were killed and another was injured in a shooting attack at Allenby Bridge on the Jordanian border.

According to Army Radio, the suspected attack was on a driver of a humanitarian aid truck that was coming from Jordan, which was supposed to deliver aid into Gaza.

Israeli army radio added that the perpetrator of the operation is a retired Jordanian soldier.

According to sources, the assailant shot and then stabbed the Israeli soldiers on the border, before he was killed, according to The Jerusalem Post.
