Jordanian authorities have arrested an Islamic preacher for a Facebook post inciting hatred against the Kingdom, AFP reported Tuesday.

Court officials said Eyad Qunaibi is being held for 15 days in preventive detention after posting a piece entitled “Jordan heading for the abyss” on his Facebook page. The piece criticized Amman’s ties with Israel, as well as the westernization of Jordanian society.

Qunaibi also spoke out against Jordan’s participation in January’s Charlie Hebdo solidarity march in Paris, AFP reported.

AFP also reported that Qunaibi was born in Kuwait, but that he holds a doctorate in pharmacology from the University of Houston in the United States.
