Jordan’s Prime Minister Ali Abu Ragheb on Saturday started a two-day official visit to Algeria for talks with the country's leaders and to deliver a message to Algerian President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika from King Abdullah, reported the Jordan Times.
Abu Ragheb, who is leading a Jordanian delegation comprising the ministers of industry and trade, labor, culture and tourism and antiquities, was welcomed by Algeria's Prime Minister Ali Ben Falis and senior government officials.
In remarks upon arriving in Algiers, Abu Ragheb said he would exchange views about regional issues and discuss questions of concern to the two countries, the paper quoted him as saying.
He said the king's message "deals with pan-Arab and regional developments, economic issues and further strengthening of relations.”
Abu Ragheb went to Algeria from Tunisia, where he co-chaired the Jordanian-Tunisian Higher Committee meeting with his Tunisian counterpart and concluded a number of agreements to bolster bilateral cooperation in scientific, cultural, educational, labor, tourism and judicial fields.
In a statement issued at the end of the Tunisian visit, the two sides said they agreed on the creation of an Arab free trade zone, and voiced solidarity with Iraqi people, calling for an end to the sanctions.
They also voiced support for the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom, said reports – Albawaba.com
