Japan's embattled Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori unveiled a new cabinet on Tuesday, placing two former premiers in his fresh administration.
"The second Mori cabinet has been formed now," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda told a news conference.
"We aim to achieve full economic recovery at a time when Japan is facing a crucial period of rebuilding our country ahead of the 21st century."
Mori retained his key Finance Minister Kiichi Miyazawa, who was prime minister between 1991 and 1993, while another former premier Ryutaro Hashimoto was appointed minister in charge of administrative reform.
Hashimoto's appointment was seen as a highlight of the new cabinet while Miyazawa's reappointment was widely expected.
