ITWorx, one of the largest software professional services firm in Egypt, is proud to announce a recent customer achievement. The Ministry of Investment in Egypt (MOI) has received one of the industry’s most recognized awards at a competition for the Egyptian Ministries held under the auspices of the IDSC (Information and Decisions Support Centre), the Egyptian Cabinet’s Think Tank. The award for ‘Best Information Portal’, for the year 2006-2007, acknowledged the Ministry for the Egyptian Investment Portal (EIP), developed by ITWorx.

In alignment with Egypt’s electronic government strategy, and in co-operation with Microsoft Egypt, ITWorx developed the EIP (Egyptian Investment Portal). The EIP ‘one-stop-shop’ Web portal was implemented specifically to act as an information disclosure gateway for the MOI and its related authorities and entities. The EIP has also worked to provide interactive value added e-services such as dispute settlement and e-investment information flow.

“The Egyptian Government is currently undertaking one of the most successful economic reforms in history, and attracting more direct investors – both foreign and domestic – is key to the success of our continued growth," said Mazen M. Fayad, IT Director Egyptian Ministry of Investment. "The Egyptian Investment Portal that ITWorx developed is one of the most robust investment portals in the world. ITWorx has provided the Ministry of Investment with a tool that truly puts all aspects of investing at the individual’s fingertips via the Web, making the whole process more simple, secure, and trustworthy,” adds Fayad.

The EIP, designed as a multilingual portal, delivers economic and investment information in English, Arabic, Chinese and French. The implementation of the EIP has bolstered the credibility of the MOI in providing potential and current investors with key information about various investment opportunities in Egypt.

“We are thrilled that the EIP solution has been recognized for such a significant award. Our in-depth knowledge and expertise with Microsoft technologies, together with the efforts of extremely dedicated teams from both ITWorx and the Ministry of Investment in Egypt, ensured that we delivered on a successful solution,” said Manal Milad, Government Service Delivery Manager, ITWorx. “As we move forward, we will be focusing on innovative, advanced e-services that help mobilize and promote Egypt investment opportunities across both regional and foreign markets,” explains Milad.

The initial launch of the EIP on 29th January 2005 saw attendance by Egypt’s Prime Minister, Ahmed Nazif, as well as Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates. Throughout the project’s third phase launch in 2007, ITWorx worked closely with MOI to deliver a number of new e-services across the EIP. These include Business Matchmaking, e-newsletters, e-complaints as well as creating a new investment community by using the Push Technology through mobile phones. ITWorx has also implemented advanced personalization, customization, and content syndication features within the portal.
