Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini arrived in Algiers on Saturday in the framework of a series of visits aimed at preparing his country's upcoming presidency of the European Union (EU), officials said, cited by AFP.
Frattini met upon his arrival with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and expressed Rome's support for the North African country following last month's devastating earthquake.
Frattini was due later on Saturday to fly on to Lebanon, and then on to Syria. (Albawaba.com)
