Jordan recorded more than 6,454 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the caseload to some 155,990, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
In its daily briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic, the MoH said that 2,641 cases were recorded in Amman, 1,131 in Irbid, 590 in Ajloun, 418 in Mafraq, 371 in Balqa, 356 in Zarqa, 214 in Aqaba, 214 in Madaba, 205 in Maan, 157 in Tafilah, 110 in Karak, 47 in Jerash.
Sixty-six people succumbed to COVID-19 within the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 1,909, the MoH added.

A total of 289 patients were admitted to hospitals, as the total number of cases in hospitals tops 2,153, while 200 had people recovered and were discharged. In total, 90,267 people have recovered.
In its effort to combat the spread of the disease, the contact tracing teams conducted some 27,440 COVID-19 tests today, as the tally surpasses 2.23 million, the MoH added.
Amid a vertiginous rise in the number of cases, the MoH urged people to abide by health measures, wearing masks and gloves, and to commit to defense orders that prohibit holding gatherings of more than 20 people, highlighting the importance of downloading the "Aman" and "Sihtak" apps.
