ALBAWABA - In retaliation to the attack on Tel Aviv, Israeli warplanes pounded Houthi-controlled sites near Hodeidah port on Saturday, killing at least three people and injuring at least 87.

Most injuries were recorded as severe burns, as Israeli warplanes targeted oil refineries and a power station near the Hodeidah port, Al-Masirah TV, Houthi-run TV channel reported, citing the Ministry of Health.

Eyewitnesses told Reuters that as the firefighting teams were racing to put out fires in the port's oil tanks, heavy explosions were heard across the city as warplanes pounded several sites.

According to Israel's military spokesperson, the Houthis utilized the port for receiving Iranian weapons supplies. The spokesperson added that the Israeli targets included dual-use areas like energy infrastructure.

The Houthis' Supreme Political Council promised an "effective response" to the strikes. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that the Houthis "will not hesitate to strike vital targets of the Israeli enemy".

The raids on Yemen, which Israeli authorities claimed occurred after more than 200 Houthi strikes on Israel, raised concerns that the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza may expand and escalate into a regional full-scale war

On Friday, a long-range Iranian-made drone launched from Yemen struck the center of Tel Aviv in an attack claimed by the Houthis near the US Embassy, killing one man and injuring four others.

That strike followed an increase in the regular exchange of fire between Israeli soldiers and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 38,919+ people, with more than 89,622+ injuries.

Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
