ALBAWABA - "Jameela Al-Hassi," a Palestinian lady who was under siege near the Shifa Hospital complex, reported that women in the region had been raped and slain by Israeli forces.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Al-Hassi said: "The Red Cross is not here, and they are unable to give us water. Not even saltwater, which is not potable, can be found for our kids to drink. Not only do we not know where to go, we do not even have water to break our fast. We request that the Red Cross give sick and children access to water."
To be clear, she said, "We haven't found food or water for six days."
"We are stranded amid ongoing Israeli bombardment," Al-Hassi continued.
She went on to say that entire families were killed in the fire that destroyed the building where they had taken sanctuary.
Al-Hassi emphasized that 65 families were compelled to evacuate the area around the facility due to the occupation.
Abir Gubn
In a separate interview, 39-year-old Abir Gubn, a Palestinian woman detained in the northern Gaza Strip, described her ordeal and said that Israeli soldiers had stolen from and mistreated her.
During her 63-day arrest, Gubn said that she was tortured, had her money stolen, and was forced to nude inspections. She described her experience, saying she was caught up in a military action after fleeing Israeli bombardment with her three children and neighbors to El-Fahura School.
Arrest and Questioning
"When the war started, I was at Kemal Advan Hospital, and after my son's treatment was over, we sought refuge in El-Fahura School," Palestinian captive Gubn recalled her ordeal. We were bombed by the occupying army, and my husband's second wife and kids perished as martyrs."
After the Israeli army attacked and invaded the school, Gubn described leaving the area and traveling to Rafah with her kids.
After some time, according to Gubn, the troops inquired for her name and identifying number before transferring her to a different battalion that had both male and female soldiers.
According to Gubn, she was forced to submit to a nude search under penalty of death after Israeli forces ordered that she undress for a search, which she initially refused.
Gubn described the actions of the Israeli troops as follows: "After forcing me to put on my clothing, they shackled my wrists and feet, blindfolded me, and carried me to a location, then from there to another location using a military vehicle. We were tied up with our wrists, feet, and eyes there for the night."
She described being subjected to many nude searches while in custody and said that Israeli troops had verbally harassed her and tortured her.
Gubn went on, "They led us to a big, military-filled facility, made us take off our clothing, beat and tortured me. It was cold outside, so they made us wear flimsy prison clothes."
She claimed that Israeli soldiers had regularly subjected her and the other prisoners to verbal abuse, physical attacks, and nude searches. Gubn claims the troops took her expensive gold jewelry and forced her to sign a paper certifying that they had received her stuff, which she never received back.
Gubn also related how he was moved throughout military cells, subjected to abuse and torture, and ultimately freed. Even after being freed, she said, Israeli soldiers held her under control until she arrived at the border between Gaza and Israel, where she was met by officials from the International Committee of the Red Cross.
