ALBAWABA - The Israeli occupation army has admitted that it mistakenly published images of people who were not in prison but were allegedly being held at Gaza's Shifa Hospital. This acknowledgment follows the debunking of Israeli allegations that they were holding Hamas officials amid ongoing operations at the Shifa compound.
According to an article in the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the Israeli army misled the public about Raed Saad's detention at Shifa Hospital.
The Israeli army has since acknowledged the falsity of a list it had previously released that purported to include prominent Hamas figures seized during ongoing operations at the Shifa compound.
Following acknowledgments of mistakes made by mistake when releasing the images, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Haggai withdrew the statement. The turnaround highlights how difficult it is to navigate the conflict's complexity and how crucial it is to disseminate correct information.
Tensions in the area have increased as a result of the occurrence, which has brought attention to the two sides' ongoing moral and psychological warfare.
After the Israeli army's recent raid, a Hamas security official quickly refuted the army's claims that movement officials were being held inside Gaza City's Shifa Medical Complex. The security official stressed to Al Jazeera that the Israeli army spokesperson's list of detainees is erroneous.
The official went on to say that some of the people on the list are currently living outside of Gaza, while other people on the list are martyrs. Three of the people on the list were also identified as doctors who had previously been freed by the occupation forces.
